Psychology and Counselling

At Outlook Ecotherapy ‘therapy’ is ‘done differently’ … no labels, white walls, weird smelly couches, or frosted windows. Instead, clients learn by doing on site with the aid of animals, movement and play, or in their community, such as one’s local library, park, or shopping centre. Our model involves chapters of care which is explained on the ‘About’ page.

Our sessions blend

  • Evidence-based therapies, including, but not limited to: adapted and traditional CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, Process-orientated (Parts Model), Gottman, Somatic, and Bowen family systems

  • Nature-based therapies including the EPI’s model of equine-assisted Gestalt therapy

  • Complimentary approaches including relaxation strategies, psycho-education, motivational interviewing, progressive muscle relaxation, MBSR, controlled breathing, and self-compassion

Many of our clients have diagnoses that include Anxiety, Depression, ASD, ADHD, and trauma. Subsequently, our sessions tend to include a mixture of indoor, online and outdoor interventions, and a blend of individual, family, and parent-child work.

Importantly our sessions may occur at ‘The Outlook,’ and/or at school, in the home, and/or in the community. This is particularly beneficial to teenage and adult clients struggling with essential life skills.

Coaching and Retreats

We offer coaching to corporate teams with a focus on building confidence and connection.

We have three packages available:

  • Leading Through Change (Leadership)

  • Connect and Cultivate (Team Building)

  • New Outlook (Retreat)

The one-day experiential workshops integrate somatic, emotional and relational skills, and are designed to create meaningful and sustainable change.

Our programs are led by two clinicians, with nine horses as co-facilitators. Horses model and trigger; alert awareness, healthy boundaries, a clarity of being, expression of feelings as information (rather than avoiding or manipulating), sensitivity as a strength, and clear communication. Skills we can all use to navigate life, love, learning and leadership.

Typically, the catalogue includes two equine experiences (tailored to your goals), nature-based meditation and breath-work, integration sessions, and wholefoods catering.

Please email admin@outlookecotherapy.com for the investment quote.
